Faculty Position Announcement Department of Adult and Continuing Education, National Taiwan Normal University full-time teacher/project-based teaching fellow (assistant professor rank or above)
I. Academic and Teaching Specializations
1. Academic Specialization: The Department welcomes applicants with expertise in any of the following related fields: social work, sociology, public administration, business administration, marketing, mass communication, psychology, education, aging studies, digital technology, design, architecture, urban planning, or other related disciplines.
2. Teaching Specialization: Applicants should be able to develop courses related to the needs of an aging society based on their own professional field.
3. The applicant’s future research and service should be connected to the devel-opment direction of an age-friendly society.
II. Application Qualifications
All newly-employed full-time faculty members (novice teachers with a doctorate degree ex-cluded) shall meet one of the following requirements:
1. Within the last three years, he/she has two academic papers published in journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, TSSCI, EI, A&HCI, THCI (formerly THCI Core before 2016), SCOPUS, etc., as the first or corresponding author.
2. Within the last three years, he/she has served as the principal investigator of at least two research projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly National Sci-ence Council).
3. Within the last three years, he/she has at least one monograph published, with reviewer comments and relevant proof confirming approval for publication attached.
The aforementioned journal articles and research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly National Science Council) may offset one another.
III. Newly appointed faculty members should possess the ability to teach courses fully in English and to engage in international exchange.
IV. Application process
This recruitment process consists of two stages: initial review and second-stage re-view.
1. Initial Review: Applicants should submit four copies of each of the following documents before the application deadline.
A. A detailed curriculum vitae. Applicants should download the Department’s format from the “Latest News” section of the Department of Adult and Con-tinuing Education website: http://www.ace.ntnu.edu.tw/
B. Photocopies of the doctoral degree certificate, teacher certificate if available, appointment letter, or relevant proof of employment.
C. Major academic publications, doctoral dissertation, and works or portfolio achievements in the applicant’s professional field.
D. Teaching evaluation or course evaluation materials, if available.
E. Future Development Plan:
– A list of at least eight Chinese course syllabi for existing courses in the De-partment or proposed new courses after appointment; applicants for the project-based teaching fellow position should provide at least five Chinese course syllabi, among which five should also include English course syllabi.
– Future research development direction connected to an age-friendly society.
– Specific internationalization strategies that would contribute to the Depart-ment’s teaching, research, and service.
2. Second-stage Review: Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview. The interview schedule will be arranged and notified separately.
V. Position
Based on the applicant’s academic and professional background, the appointment will be made at an appropriate faculty rank in accordance with the regulations of the University. If no suitable candidate is found, the position may remain vacant. However, the quota for this position must be approved by the University before the appointment can be submitted for approval.
